Today we want to take you to an exceptional place, a period residence that will make you dream. In Loreto Aprutino, in the hills of Abruzzo, stands the Castello Chiola Hotel, a former medieval fortress, which in ancient times was a watchtower of the Lombards and an outpost of the Empire of Frederick II.
Set like a diamond between the Pescara coast and the Gran Sasso, Loreto Aprutino is a city of art, of great history and of considerable cultural depth, among the most beautiful in Abruzzo.
Initially known only as Lauretum for its proximity to laurel woods (laurels), it later acquires the adjective Aprutium, learned form of Abruzzo, which completes the name of the structure known today, stands suggestive in the ancient land of the Vestini, on the top of a hill at 307m asl, among immense expanses of olive groves.
Its historic center preserves intact its historical-architectural physiognomy and the characteristic medieval aspect of houses and narrow buildings around the Castle and is shown, to those arriving in the country from the state 151, in a scenographic way and of great emotional impact with the polychromy of the facades of houses and the ocher of the brick.
The structure of the Castle, which stands on top of a hill, houses works of art by the most famous Abruzzese masters. The house has a Wine bar, ideal for relaxing with delicious aperitifs, an outdoor swimming pool overlooking the valley, two terraces with panoramic views, a breakfast room and finally the "L'Antico Torchio" restaurant, which serves modern and original dishes prepared with local raw materials and seasonal products.
In the center of the castle a small cloister with a glass roof will allow you to listen to the music of the piano while you sip your aperitif, as we did!
The rooms, spacious and elegant and perfectly equipped with four-poster beds, are different from each other and are furnished in the refined style of the structure.
The restaurant offers haute cuisine delicacies obtained with the best local products.

Oggi vogliamo portarvi in un posto eccezionale, una residenza d'epoca che vi farà sognare. A Loreto Aprutino, fra le colline dell’Abruzzo, sorge il Castello Chiola Hotel, una ex fortezza medievale, che anticamente fu una torre di guardia dei Longobardi e un avamposto dell’Impero di Federico II.
Incastonata come un diamante tra la costa pescarese e il Gran Sasso, Loreto Aprutino è una cittadina d’arte , di grande storia e di notevole spessore culturale, tra le più belle D’Abruzzo.
Inizialmente nota solo come Lauretum per la sua vicinanza a boschi di allori (lauri), in seguito acquisisce l’aggettivo Aprutium, forma dotta di Abruzzo, che ne completa il nome della struttura oggi conosciuta, si erge suggestiva nell’antica terra dei Vestini, sulla sommità di un colle a 307m slm, tra immense distese di uliveti.
Il suo centro storico conserva intatta la propria fisionomia storico- architettonica e il caratteristico aspetto medioevale di case e palazzi stretti intorno al Castello e si mostra, a chi arriva in paese dalla statale 151, in modo scenografico e di grande impatto emotivo con la policromia delle facciate delle case e l’ocra del mattone.
La struttura del Castello, che si erge sulla cima di un colle, ospita al suo interno opere d’arte dei più famosi maestri abruzzesi. La dimora dispone di un Wine bar, ideale per rilassarsi con deliziosi aperitivi, una piscina esterna, che si affaccia sulla valle, due terrazze con vista panoramica, una sala allestita per la colazione ed infine il ristorante "L’Antico Torchio", che serve piatti moderni e originali preparati con materie prime locali e prodotti di stagione.
Al centro del castello una chiostrina con tetto in vetro vi permetterà di ascoltare la musica del pianoforte mentre sorseggiate il vostro aperitivo, come abbiamo fatto noi!
La camere, spaziose ed eleganti e perfettamente attrezzate con letto a baldacchino, sono diverse una dall’altra e sono arredate secondo lo stile raffinato della struttura. Il ristorante offre prelibatezze di alta cucina ottenute con i migliori prodotti del territorio.
