There is a small oasis in the Scarlino Nature Reserve in Tuscany. It is called Cala Violina and is completely surrounded by greenery.
Cala Violina, as the name implies, is a free sand beach on the Maremma coast with crystal clear waters and very well known and frequented by the inhabitants of the Grosseto area because, despite its beauty and peace, it is still unknown to mass tourism.
It can only be reached on foot through the various paths that we find at the entrance to the Reserve. Depending on where we intend to park, the beach is about 20/40 minutes away on foot. In the high season, parking is subject to a fee (around 7 euros for the whole day or 3.5 euros for half). The paths are clearly visible and well maintained. The walk is very quiet as there are no big differences in height to face and for this reason it is easily accessible even by families with small children or strollers. Along the paths you will find benches and wooden tables to stop if you want to rest or have a fresh picnic. But be careful: being a nature reserve there are no bars / restaurants or toilets, nor even waste bins (otherwise the local game could rummage in the trash and scatter the waste on the ground). Nature is the only master.
You will see that in addition to Cala Violina, there are indications to reach other small coves, such as Cala Martina and Cala Le Donne (of stones) and Cala Civette (sandy) until you reach the coast of Camping Baia Verde further south.
But let's go back to the beautiful and calm waters of Cala Violina. Have you ever thought of finding the sea of ​​Puglia in Tuscany? Here, this place always makes me this effect! In the morning the sea is calm and transparent. In the afternoon very often the wind rises a little and the currents could bring some algae on the shore. But with two steps in the water, we return to review our feet as if nothing had happened. The beach is not very large and for this reason it is better to arrive as soon as possible to occupy the place with your own umbrella. In addition, the entrance is limited and the parking lots fill up very quickly ...
Another way to reach Cala Violina is by renting a boat or a motorboat at the Port of Scarlino (the less experienced have the possibility of being accompanied by a skipper) for a paltry price and enjoying the wonders of this place directly from the sea. There are various companies you can contact online and remember to book in advance!
Or you can organize a suggestive horseback ride at sunset along the paths and various coves.

C’è una piccola oasi nella Riserva Naturale di Scarlino, in Toscana. Si chiama Cala Violina ed è completamente immersa nel verde.
Cala Violina, come dice il nome, è una spiaggia di sabbia libera sul litorale maremmano con acque cristalline e molto conosciuta e frequentata dagli abitanti del Grossetano in quanto, nonostante la sua bellezza e la sua pace, è ancora sconosciuta al turismo di massa.
E’ raggiungibile solo a piedi attraverso i vari sentieri che troviamo all’ingresso della Riserva. In base a dove intendiamo parcheggiare, la spiaggia è distante circa 20/40 minuti a piedi. Nell’alta stagione il parcheggio è a pagamento (circa 7 euro per l’intera giornata o 3,5 euro per la mezza). I sentieri sono ben visibili e ben tenuti. La passeggiata è molto tranquilla in quanto non ci sono grossi dislivelli da affrontare e per questo è facilmente percorribile anche da famiglie con bambini piccoli o passeggini. Lungo i percorsi troverete panche e tavoli in legno per fermarsi volendo a riposare o a consumare un fresco pic nic. Ma attenzione: essendo riserva naturale non sono presenti bar/ristoranti o WC, e neanche cestini per rifiuti (altrimenti la selvaggina del luogo potrebbe frugare nella spazzatura e spargere i rifiuti per terra). La Natura fa da unico padrone J
Vedrete che oltre a Cala Violina, ci sono indicazioni per raggiungere altre piccole calette, come Cala Martina e Cala Le Donne (di sassi) e Cala Civette (sabbiosa) fino a raggiungere più a sud il litorale del Camping Baia Verde.
Ma torniamo alle bellissime e calme acque di Cala Violina. Avreste mai pensato di trovare in Toscana il mare della Puglia? Ecco, questo luogo mi fa sempre questo effetto! La mattina il mare è calmo e trasparente. Nel pomeriggio molto spesso si alza un pochino il vento e le correnti potrebbero portare alcune alghe sul bagnasciuga. Ma con due passi in acqua, torniamo a rivedere i nostri piedi come se niente fosse. La spiaggia non è molto grande e per questo è meglio arrivare il prima possibile per occupare il posto con il proprio ombrellone. Inoltre l’ingresso è a numero chiuso ed i parcheggi si riempiono molto velocemente…
Un altro modo per raggiungere Cala Violina è noleggiando una barca o un motoscafo presso il Porto di Scarlino (i meno esperti hanno la possibilità di farsi accompagnare da uno skipper) per un prezzo irrisorio e godersi le meraviglie di questo posto direttamente dal mare. Ci sono varie compagnie da poter contattare online e ricordatevi di prenotare in anticipo! Oppure è possibile organizzare una suggestiva passeggiata a cavallo al tramonto lungo i sentieri e le varie calette.
