An amazing natural termal location into the woods

Today we want to talk about the termal waters of Bagni San Filippo and Fosso Bianco.

It is a such beautiful hidden place, a magical landscape of white limestone formations, small waterfalls and small pools of warm water in the middle of a green forest.

With the name "Bagni San Filippo" is called the entire termal area and the local town, but the real attraction is the "Fosso Bianco" and "The White Whale".

The "Fosso Bianco is the part of the termal area were we can see the limestone formations, created by the water.

The access to the entire Fosso Bianco area is free. The area is quite extensive, with a little river of very warm transparent waters. Walking along the main path you reach the Cascata della Balena, a huge block of limestone formed by the sediments of the white hyperthermal waters.

The waterfall, named for its resemblance to the mouth of a whale, is the most important limestone formation of the Fosso Bianco. The water temperature is around 48º, and it allow bathing even out of season.
